Carmel City Indiana Car Accident
At approximately 7:30 a.m., the Carmel Police Department responded to a report of a multi-vehicle crash near the intersection of Westfield Blvd. and 111th Street. Upon arrival, police discovered that three vehicles were involved in the crash. According to witnesses, a black 2002 BMW was traveling southbound on Westfield Blvd. when it collided with the rear end of a maroon 1987 Chrysler New Yorker.
This initial contact pushed the Chrysler into the northbound lanes of Westfield Blvd, which resulted in a head-on collision with a northbound white 2002 Ford Explorer. The driver of the BMW, Ian Bryant a 24 year old white male of Indianapolis, was not injured. The driver of the Chrysler New Yorker, Judith Ogden a 61 year old white female of Indianapolis, suffered numerous injuries and was transported to Methodist Hospital. She was pronounced dead at 8:30 a.m. by Marion County Coroner, Justin Thompson.
The driver of the Ford Explorer, a 17 year old white female of Indianapolis, was complaining of pain in her left arm and was transported to Carmel St. Vincent Hospital for evaluation. The cause of the accident is still under investigation; however, icy road conditions may have been a factor.
